Job description

The candidate must have an intermediate command of English, particularly in reading and writing, in order to effectively read, interpret and prepare manufacturer communications in both French and English.

Requirements:

- In-depth knowledge of automotive mechanics;
- Experience managing warranty claims with a North American automotive manufacturer is a strong asset;
- Comfortable working with various computer platforms;
- Knowledge of Reynolds & Reynolds ERA-IGNITE DMS;
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Service Manager, the main responsibilities of the Warranty Claims Administrator include:

- Complete all documents required to process warranty claims, submit them to the manufacturer or supplier and ensure proper follow-up;
- Ensure that all amounts claimed comply with manufacturer or supplier standards;
- Follow up on claims to ensure prompt payment;
- Analyze claims rejected by the manufacturer or supplier and, when applicable, resubmit them as quickly as possible or obtain authorization to write them off;
- Analyze and review credits;
- Provide the Accounts Receivable representative with the documents required to process accounting entries, receivables, payments and credits related to warranties or internal charges;
- Train internal staff on warranty provisions and any related changes;
- Stay up to date on all manufacturer recalls and bulletins;
- Monitor work in progress by Service Advisor and provide updates for month-end;
- Participate in developing marketing strategies for after-sales service offers;
- Manage mass follow-up communications for the Service Department twice a month;
- Perform any other duties related to the position.
