POSITION SUMMARY

Join TNDC's Mechanical Team at Red Chris Mine, whereyou will play a key role in keeping our fleet and equipment operating safelyand reliably. In this hands-on role, you will use your troubleshooting andmechanical expertise to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair light-dutyvehicles and related equipment in a remote camp environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
 

  • Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair light-dutyvehicles and related equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance in accordance withmanufacturer and company specifications.
  • Investigate vehicle deficiencies, breakdowns, andmechanical malfunctions.
  • Repair and replace components including engines,drivetrains, steering, suspension, braking, and electrical systems.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identifymechanical and electrical issues.
  • Complete routine servicing including oil changes,lubrication, fluid checks, and inspections.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders,and repair documentation.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliancewith company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate equipment status, repair requirements, andmaintenance needs to supervisors.
  • Participate in toolbox meetings, safety meetings, andrequired training programs.
  • Assist with fleet inspections and equipment readinessinitiatives.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts within themaintenance department.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS
 

  • Licensed Automotive Service Technician required; RedSeal (Interprovincial Certification) considered an asset.
  • Experience maintaining, diagnosing, and repairinggasoline and diesel-powered light-duty vehicles.
  • Ford F150-F550 experience considered an asset.
  • Experience working in mining, industrial,construction, or heavy industry environments is preferred.
  • Proficient with diagnostic software, scanners, testingequipment, fleet maintenance systems, and repair documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems, includingengines, transmissions, steering, suspension, braking, electrical, and HVACsystems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals,schematics, service bulletins, and diagnostic reports.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, analytical, andtroubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs, fleetmaintenance practices, and workplace safety standards.
  • Strong organizational, time management, recordkeeping,and documentation skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills withthe ability to work collaboratively across departments and trades.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competingpriorities, and adapt to changing operational requirements in a fast-pacedenvironment.
  • Ability to safely work in a remote mining orindustrial setting, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and working 12-hour shifts.
  • OFA and WHMIS certifications are considered assets.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, environmentalstewardship, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to mentor, train, and share technicalknowledge with apprentices, trainees, and coworkers.

CONDITIONS OFEMPLOYMENT
