A prominent supplier of custom-engineered test and measurement solutions for the automotive industry is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team. This role is based in Mississauga, ON, and reports to the Engineering Manager.
The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience and is responsible for designing mechanical systems that meet specific customer needs. This includes creating detailed design documents for the manufacturing team to bring the designs to life.

Responsibilities
Review and understand project specifications, including requirements and timelines.
Use SolidWorks to develop mechanical designs.
Prepare design review documents and participate in customer meetings.
Create drawings with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Generate a detailed bill of materials (BOM) using MiniMRP software.
Source and obtain quotes from suppliers, then generate purchase orders.
Provide troubleshooting support to manufacturing and field service technicians.
Communicate project updates using designated channels like Asana and email.
Create all necessary documentation for the manufacturing team (e.g., drawings, cutlists).
Ensure all ordered components are received and properly kitted.
Document spare parts lists for future inventory management.
Perform quality checks on machined parts to ensure they meet standards.
Conduct a final BOM and model check against the actual build before shipping.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree, Diploma, or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering.
Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.
Knowledge and experience with GD&T.
Familiarity with engineering principles (mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics).
Knowledge of safety requirements and standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 12100).
Understanding of ergonomics and human factors principles.
Experience in the design, development, assembly, and testing of mechanical systems.
Mechanical troubleshooting skills, both on-site and remote.
Strong collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams.
A valid passport and the ability to travel to the U.S. and Mexico (approx. 10% travel).
Flexibility to work occasional overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
A Professional Engineer (PE) license or working toward one.
Certifications in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
Experience in the automotive industry.
