Job description:
Do you want to contribute to more sustainable mobility while putting your hands-on expertise and leadership skills to good use?
At Communauto, we’ve been transforming urban environments since 1994. As pioneers in car-sharing, we believe that a different model of mobility is possible—one that’s smarter, more accessible, and more people-centered.
We are looking for our future Damage Specialist, who will handle the operational processing of vehicle-related claims in collaboration with suppliers, users, and internal departments.
The person will ensure the quality of follow-ups, the smooth flow of interventions, and the accuracy of the information provided.
This role aims to structure, facilitate, and improve internal processes. Final compensation decisions and technical analyses remain the responsibility of authorized teams and insurance partners.
What we’re looking for:
- Basic knowledge of automotive mechanics and vehicle operation.
- Knowledge of traffic laws and claims procedures.
- Proficiency in office software (MS Office 365).
- Bilingualism (French-English) in both spoken and written communication.
- Skills:
- Clear and precise writing.
- Structured case management.
- Effective coordination with suppliers and internal teams.
- Basic budget tracking and ability to prioritize tasks based on available resources.
- Independence, sound judgment, and the ability to anticipate needs.
- Attention to detail and a sense of financial responsibility.
- Customer focus and team spirit.
- Discretion and professionalism.
Your day-to-day role:
- Processing claims and accident reports: opening and documenting accident reports, drafting insurance claims, and validating damage, reports, and vehicle conditions.
- Coordinating repairs and vendors: managing repair requests and vehicle return-to-service, scheduling garage appointments, having estimates analyzed, validated, and authorized, and working closely with external vendors;
- Field and interdepartmental follow-up: assign and collaborate on operational requests with the Customer Service Center (CSC) and Regional Managers (RMs), investigate routes and conduct necessary follow-ups with users, and handle requests to or from impound lots, the SAAQ, and police services;
- Ongoing improvement and process structuring: contribute to the development, updating, and optimization of procedures related to claims management; document and map operational processes, from the incident to case resolution; identify inefficiencies, duplications, or areas of ambiguity; and propose concrete improvements;
- Facilitate the flow of information between claims, insurance companies, field operations, and suppliers;
- Explain the mechanisms and requirements related to insurance claims to operational teams;
- Produce and maintain reference tools (guides, procedures, diagrams).
- Budget monitoring for damage claims: adhere to monthly budgets allocated for repairs and disaster-related interventions, track expenditures, anticipate future needs based on operational priorities, and collaborate with the manager to adjust interventions according to budgetary constraints.
What we offer:
- Full-time position (37.5 hours per week) working on-site at the office, located at 5800 Saint-Denis Street in Montreal;
- Comprehensive benefits package: health, dental, vision, and travel insurance;
- Group pension plan with employer contribution;
- Personal leave bank;
- Discounts on Communauto services and public transit passes;
- Employee and family assistance program;
- Access to telemedicine.
