Today, we’re looking for a Workshop Manager for our Rivière-des-Prairies workshop: someone who loves being on the ground, coordinating, and working in environments where you have to make quick decisions and keep operations moving.
Your day-to-day role
You are the shop floor leader. Specifically, you will:
• Organize and prioritize work based on urgency and the workshop’s actual capacity;
• Analyze and assign work orders to mechanics;
• Manage vehicle flow (movements, parking, jockeying, work sequences);
• Decide where and how repairs will be performed (workshop, mobile unit, etc.);
• Ensure the quality of repairs and handle complex cases;
• Supervise mechanics on a daily basis and provide clear feedback;
• Contribute to a safe and structured work environment;
Ultimately, you ensure that priorities are met and that the garage performs effectively.
What we’re looking for:
• 5 to 8 years of experience in automotive mechanics;
• Experience in workshop coordination, supervision, or a similar role (foreman, team leader, technical advisor);
• Ability to organize, make decisions, and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment;
• Natural on-the-ground leadership (you’re comfortable providing guidance, coaching, and motivating others);
• Strong technical judgment and sense of priorities;
• Sense of responsibility regarding occupational health and safety (OHS) and ability to address on-the-ground practices;
• Bilingualism (French and English).
Assets:
• Vocational Diploma (DVS) in automotive mechanics;
• Knowledge of electric vehicles.
