SCOPE OF THE ROLE

The General Accountant will handle the daily Accounting operations of the "After Sales" including but not limited to:

 

  • Perform the accounting function including all processes, controls, policies, and procedures to support the goals and objectives of the accounting activities, including:
    • Month and year-end process, prepare and post journal entries in SAP as required
    • Manage and facilitate AP transactions related to AFS department
    • Manage and reconcile AR transactions related to AFS department
    • Review & reconcile G/L in SAP and look for discrepancies in coding and cost allocation
    • Revenue and expenditure reconciliation and review from internal systems (SalesForce)
    • Facilitate AFS Spare Parts Inventory Management including cycle counts, manage costing transactions in SAP and ensure completeness and accuracy in general ledger
    • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements
    • Coordinate and complete annual audits
  • Manage and facilitate all transactions related to AFS Sales & Repair Orders
  • Facilitate all transactions related to "Charging" initiatives including pass through transactions in SAP, GL Coding & Mapping
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with Canadian senior management, stakeholders, and external partners
  • Maintain ongoing interaction/communications with the VinFast Vietnam accounting leadership team to collaborate on various Canadian accounting activities.
  • Collaborate with IT to support on the development / enhancement of accounting systems
  • Work closely with international markets & global finance for items relating to cost sharing and charge back.
  • Provide input on accounting aspects for long-term business and financial planning.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned or required.


WHAT YOU BRING ALONG
 

  • 5 - 7 years of progressive work experience in finance and accounting.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and/or improve accounting and financial processes in various business scenarios such as start-ups, business integration.
  • Strong working knowledge of Canadian compliance regulations, GAAP, IFRS, accounting, and tax related matters.
  • Experience working with auditors and outside advisors, and with SAP solution.
  • Bachelor's degree and CPA designation required.
  • Experience in in the automotive/EV space is preferred but nota must. Prefer background with companies known for best practices.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Power point, project management).
  • Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines, with demonstrated team-work skill
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • High integrity and business ethics; operates with the best interests of the company in mind.
  • "Can-do" mindset with high energy and strong work ethic.
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to deal well with modifications and changes to operating plans.
