We are recruiting a Diesel Technician for a state-of-the-art facility in Edmonton. You will tackle preventive maintenance, detailed diagnostics, and complete engine overhauls in a clean shop setting. Type: Permanent, Full-time Location: Edmonton, AB Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (Days) Setting: Modern Commercial Repair Facility / Non-Union Pay: $44.00 - $48.00/hr + Premiums ($3-$4/hr for off-shifts/weekends) Advantages Top Compensation: $44.00 - $48.00/hr with additional shift incentives Signing Bonus: Cash bonus paid out within your first month Rapid Health Plan: Full medical & dental benefits starting after 30 days Generous PTO: 3 weeks paid vacation, 11 statutory holidays, plus sick days RRSP Program: Up to 4.5% matching contribution from the company Workwear Included: Uniforms provided along with laundry cleaning Skill Advancement: Paid factory training, diagnostic gear, and tuition support Job Stability: Permanent non-union position with an international firm Responsibilities Preventive Service: Execute routine maintenance, servicing, and scheduled repairs on heavy trucks and trailers. Major Overhauls: Diagnose and rebuild engines, gearboxes, differentials, and fuel delivery systems. Complex Diagnostics: Locate electrical, mechanical, air brake, and steering faults using laptop tools. CVIP Sign-Offs: Perform official commercial vehicle safety checks and complete sign-offs. Service Records: Detail repair work on electronic work orders and note warranty claims. Shop Standards: Keep a safe, tidy work area and work to manufacturer standards. Qualifications Certification: Red Seal or Journeyman Heavy Duty License with valid CVIP sign-off privileges. Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience servicing diesel tractor-trailers. Driver's License: Valid Class 5 (Class 3/D with air brake stamp preferred or obtainable in 6 months). Tools: Must supply a full set of trade tools and understand diagnostic equipment. Background Check: Clear driver's abstract required (no drug test or background screening). Physical Demands: Able to lift 23 kg (50 lbs) regularly and up to 45 kg (100 lbs) periodically.
