Our client, a premier specialist in heavy equipment maintenance and lifting solutions, is seeking a talented Heavy Duty Mechanic for their facility in Clairmont, AB. This role is ideal for a proactive technician who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in high safety standards and precision diagnostic work. As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be a key contributor to maintaining equipment reliability through expert mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting and repairs. Job Type: Permanent, Full-time Location: Clairmont, AB Schedule: Full-Time Days (Shop & Field Service options) Environment: Heavy Equipment Shop / Field Service Wage: $47.00 to $54.00 per hour (Based on experience) Advantages What's in it for you? Diagnostics & Troubleshooting: Perform root cause analysis and diagnose complex hydraulic and electrical systems using OEM software and schematics. Mechanical Repairs: Execute scheduled inspections, maintenance, and overhauls on heavy-duty equipment in dedicated shop bays. Field Service Operations: Safely and efficiently perform field service work using a company service truck. Safety Leadership: Actively participate in weekly safety meetings, daily toolbox talks, and safety drills to maintain a zero-incident culture. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain, inspect, and service heavy equipment, including 14 to 55-ton cranes and commercial transport vehicles. Workshop Stewardship: Maintain clean, organized, and compliant work bays to ensure safe daily operations. Qualifications What are we looking for in a candidate? Certification: Commercial Transport (Truck & Transport) or Heavy Duty Journeyman / Red Seal certification (3rd/4th Year Apprentices are also encouraged to apply!). Technical Skills: Strong diagnostic aptitude with deep proficiency in hydraulic and electrical system troubleshooting. Licensing: Valid Class 5 Driver's License (clean abstract required for field service/truck work; Class 1, Class 3, or MVI certifications are a major bonus). Experience: CVIP experience is preferred (crane-specific experience is an asset, but strong hydraulic/electrical diagnostic knowledge is primary). Gear & Tools: Must possess a personal set of hand tools (a required tool list will be provided).
