You will prepare vehicles for processing by removing wheels and tires, draining fluids, and extracting batteries, mercury switches, and catalytic converters following strict safety and environmental standards. This role is ideal for dependable, safety-conscious individuals who thrive in physically demanding environments and enjoy active, outdoor work around heavy machinery. This is a full-time position, the ideal candidate will need to be available to start immediately Position: Vehicle Processor (Car Pad) Position Type: Contract Location: Surrey, BC (Location is a 20-minute walk from Scott Road Station. A vehicle is preferred for this position) Schedule: Monday-Friday + Occasional Saturdays as needed Shift Time: 6:00AM - 3:00PM (Saturdays: 8:00AM - 2:00PM) Wage: $23.00 - $24.00/H You can meet the shift and schedule requirements You are comfortable working in a physically demanding and outdoor environment Valid Forklift Certificate and experience required (Sit Down Counterbalance, Class 1, 4, 5) PPE: Ankle high steel toed shoes required, hard hat and all other ppe supplied Equipment On-Site: Shredder, forklifts, skid steers, loaders, scrap handlers, mobile and stationary shears, car crusher, rock trucks, vacuum truck Eligibility: You are currently located in and legally permitted to work full-time in British Columbia Advantages Pay Rate: $23-$24 Schedule: Monday-Friday +Occaional Saturdays as needed. Located in Surrey (Close to Scott Road Station) Weekly Pay (Direct Deposits) Minimum 40 hours a week and opportunities for overtime 4% Vacation Pay added to every pay Extensive training Opportunities for growth Team working environment Free Parking on site Responsibilities Perform general labour duties within a busy industrial scrap and recycling yard environment Support daily yard operations while following all health, safety, and environmental procedures Utilize hand and power tools to assist with material processing and operational tasks Assist equipment operators with the movement, positioning, and alignment of materials and machinery Load, unload, sort, and distribute materials, tools, and equipment throughout the yard Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yard and surrounding work areas Support team members across various departments and operational functions as needed Identify and report equipment damage, malfunctions, or maintenance concerns to supervisors Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and within physically demanding industrial environments Safely work around heavy equipment, machinery, scrap materials, dust, noise, and moving vehicles Perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, carrying, bending, crouching, climbing, and repetitive movement Maintain strong attention to safety, operational awareness, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment Qualifications You can meet schedule and shift requirements Minimum 1+ years of experience working in a yard, industrial, recycling, scrap metal, automotive, warehouse, construction, or similar environment Valid Forklift Certificate and experience required (Sit Down Counterbalance, Class 1, 4, 5) Mechanically inclined with experience using hand and power tools Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions, procedures, and safety guidelines Comfortable working in fast-paced outdoor and covered outdoor environments in all weather conditions Physically capable of lifting up to 50-55 lbs consistently and performing repetitive physical labour throughout the shift Able to stand, walk, bend, crouch, climb, and move throughout the yard during an 8-hour shift Comfortable working around heavy equipment, machinery, vehicles, noise, dust, and industrial materials Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and within a team environment Strong communication skills with a safety-focused mindset PPE: Ankle high steel toed shoes required, hard hat and all other ppe supplied Reliable transportation preferred; site accessible via transit with approximately a 20-minute walk from Scott Road Station Physical Conditions / Work Environment Outdoor and covered outdoor work environment in varying weather conditions Continuous standing and walking throughout the yard during shifts Frequent bending, crouching, reaching, climbing, and lifting throughout the day Ability to lift and carry up to 50-55 lbs consistently Exposure to industrial noise, dust, dirt, moving equipment, machinery, and scrap materials Required to wear PPE including steel toe boots, hearing protection, respirators, face shields, and other safety equipment as needed Fast-paced industrial scrap yard environment with moving vehicles and heavy equipment Ability to work safely around loaders, trucks, forklifts, rail cars, and production equipment Physically demanding role requiring strong awareness, focus, and attention to surroundings Overtime, weekend work, and schedule flexibility may be required during peak operational periods Summary If you have the skills/qualifications detailed above we would love to connect further.
