Our Transmission group is currently looking to add a Automotive Service Technician (Field) to the Waasigan Project Team on a 12-month term.
Reporting to the Fleet Supervisor, we are seeking a skilled and self-sufficient Automotive Service Technician with a Journeyperson certification to perform repairs and maintenance on fleet vehicles in a remote field environment. The successful candidate is comfortable working independently, keeping accurate records, and ensuring fleet assets remain safe and operational throughout the project.
Please Note: This is a field-based position supporting the Waasigan Transmission Line project in northwestern Ontario. Camp accomodations provided, working 20 days on / 8 days off; 10 hours / day.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues across a fleet of project vehicles including engines, transmissions, suspension, brakes, and steering systems
- Use diagnostic tools and software including JalTest and Ford IDS to identify issues accurately and efficiently
- Perform road tests to verify repairs and ensure vehicle safety and performance
- Maintain clear and accurate records of all work completed, parts used, and repairs performed
- Identify and recommend additional repairs or maintenance requirements to the Fleet Supervisor
- Stay current with new tools, technologies, and vehicle systems relevant to the fleet
Requirements
- Journeyperson Automotive Service Technician certification
- Demonstrated experience performing troubleshooting / repairs
- Proficiency with JalTest and Ford IDS diagnostic software
- Strong computer competency for documentation and reporting
- Valid Class G driver's licence or equivalent with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying outdoor conditions
Preferred Skills / Qualifications
- Working knowledge of JD Edwards (JDE)
- Previous experience in a construction, fleet, or remote project environment
