PDI Technician

Primary Responsibilities

  • Protect the legal and financial welfare of the dealership
  • Maintain the utmost legal, moral, and ethical standards with all customers and coworkers
  • Attendance at Go University and/or manufacture training as requested by management


Primary Duties
 

  • Inspects and services new vehicles delivered to the dealer.
  • Inspects vehicles for obvious damage and missing major components.
  • Inspects vehicles for loose or misaligned items such as trim, doors, and hardware.
  • Starts the engine and test drives vehicles to test steering, brakes, transmission, engine operation, etc.
  • Activates power equipment such as electric windows, seats, radio, horn, lights, and directional signals to ensure specified operating standards.
  • Inspects surfaces to detect minor chips and scratches in paint.
  • Makes minor repairs or adjustments to ensure the salable condition of the vehicles.
  • Fills windshield washer fluid and adds antifreeze to vehicles according to seasonal requirements.
  • Washes exterior of vehicles.
  • Cleans interior of vehicles, as required.
  • Performing the installation of required vehicle accessories.
  • Following OEM instructions for accessory installations.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with accessories.
  • Testing vehicles before and after accessory install procedures.
  • Ensures shop area is kept neat and clean.
  • Reports any safety issues to management immediately.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
