Fleet Operations Trainee (Summer Student)
Location: South Hazelton, British Columbia
Term: 8-week Program, Summer 2026 (with possibility of extension)
Job Type: Full-Time Temporary Summer Position
About the Opportunity
We are seeking an energetic and organized Fleet Operations Trainee Summer Student to support daily fleet operations during the summer term. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented student interested in transportation, logistics, or operations who is eager to gain practical hands-on experience in a fast-paced work environment.
You will assist with vehicle readiness, maintenance coordination, scheduling support, equipment tracking, and operational record-keeping while working closely with field staff and operations teams to help ensure smooth and efficient fleet activities.

General Duties
- Support daily fleet operations
- Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections
- Assist with equipment deliveries and pickups
- Help ensure vehicle readiness for deployments
- Schedule maintenance and service appointments
- Liaise with field staff regarding operational and fleet needs
- Update inventory and equipment tracking systems
- Support fleet documentation and operational record-keeping
- Assist with general operational and administrative tasks as required
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed studies in Business, Logistics, Operations, Transportation, or a related field
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Comfortable using spreadsheets and digital tracking systems
- Must have a valid driver's license (7N or Class 5)
- Willing to work 37.5 hours per week in-office, in the field, and running errands for 8 weeks
- Flexible schedule availability, including evenings and weekends

Additional Information
This is a short-term summer student position for 8 weeks, partially supported by the Canada Summer Jobs Grant. There is potential for longer-term employment beyond August 30, 2026.
