310T Mechanic

About the Job

We are currently recruiting for a Mechanic that can service trucks and equipment related to the landscape gardening industry. The position of Mechanic is an integral part of our operations. During Winter season ON-Call Shifts are available.

Pay:

 

• $37.85- $43.26 per hour, depending on experience/certification.
• Benefits after 3 months.
• Company matching RRSP after one year of employment.

Job Duties:

 

• Experience repairing and maintaining heavy equipment, including excavators, skid steers, dozers, back-hoe, etc. is an asset.
• Take immediate action to rectify any hazardous conditions and report to management.
• Ensure that all of the tools you work with are in good and safe operating condition.
• Never allow vehicles or equipment to leave the shop unless they are safe to operate.
• Have red tags available (see red tag policy) when tools and equipment need repair or are faulty.
• Ensure that the shop is left in a clean and safe condition at the end of every day.
• Keep tools neat orderly and safe from theft and misplacement.
• Once per month inspect the shop fire extinguisher and mark on the tag initials and date.

Qualifications and Requirements:

 

• 310T.
• Driver's License Class "G" or better.
• Be knowledgeable about gasoline engines and vehicles.
• Be knowledgeable on diesel vehicles and equipment.
• Perform preventative maintenance (semi-annual inspections).
• General truck, trailer, equipment repairs, and assets.

Abilities Required:

 

• Recognize and follow occupational hazards and standard safety precautions.
• Able to work efficiently with little supervision.
