Summary:
The 310T Truck & Coach Technician at Miller Waste Systems is responsible for maintaining and repairing company vehicles in compliance with safety, ministry, and company standards. This includes diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, performing road tests and service calls, and ensuring accurate maintenance records to support safe and reliable fleet operations.
Responsibilities:
In the position of 310T Truck & Coach Technician your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Must adhere to Miller Waste Systems safety protocols and must be familiar with Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Complete service, maintenance and repairs of all company vehicles to both Ministry and company standards and procedures.
- Diagnose and resolve faults efficiently and minimize equipment downtime.
- Repair waste vehicles, trucks and other company vehicles, as needed.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic/electrical systems.
- Complete road tests on serviced vehicles/equipment.
- Complete work orders with hand tools and equipment.
- Read and interpret mechanic/manufacturer/operator manuals.
- Maintain all service records and files for vehicle maintenance.
- Respond to "on-road" service calls, as required.
- Complete preventative vehicle maintenance according to established MWSI policies and procedures.
- Ensure that all equipment, vehicles and work areas comply with safety policies and regulations at all times.
- Additional projects and duties as assigned.
Competencies & Qualifications:
- A safety-first attitude with a familiarity with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and your responsibilities within it.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving faults efficiently.
- Hands-on experience repairing and maintaining hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Have and maintain a valid 310T Truck & Coach Technician Licence, or be registered as a 310T Truck & Coach Technician Apprentice with Skilled Trades Ontario, and maintain a minimum Class G Driver's Licence.
- The ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- A team mindset and the ability work effectively within a team.
- Flexibility with scheduling as delays in the truck schedule may require you to work outside regular scheduled hours and on rare occasions, weekend work.
