Position Overview:
Location: Fort McMurray | Monday-Friday (5x2) | Full-Time, Permanent
We are seeking a results driven Fleet Supervisor to provide oversight, coordination, and continuous improvement of our fleet operations, based in Fort McMurray. This role is accountable for end-to-end fleet logistics, vendor management, and the execution of a consistent and compliant vehicle maintenance program that maximizes asset performance, safety, and life cycle value. The successful candidate will act as a key partner to branch operations, ensuring fleet strategies align with operational needs while delivering measurable cost savings and service consistency.
The Fleet Supervisor will bring a strong technical understanding of vehicle maintenance and warranty, combined with the ability to influence stakeholders and enforce standards across multiple locations. With a focus on safety, vendor accountability, and preventative maintenance, this role plays a critical part in supporting operational readiness, improving turnaround times, and extending the useful life of fleet assets through disciplined planning, reporting, and continuous process improvement.
Job Description:
Major Job Functions
- Branch Relations: Maximize opportunities for operational improvement and communicate/implement fleet management best practices at branch level
- Vendor Management: Regular on-site vendor meetings to ensure behavior remains in line with contract stipulations. Drive compliancy for consistent pricing, warranty recovery and drive optimal turnaround time
- M&R: Direct involvement with branches enforcing compliancy to maintenance/repair program. Support the successful execution of the preventative maintenance program
- Vehicle Production and Manufacturing: working with regional and corporate teams to ensure cost competitive and timely vehicle manufacturing to support business operational requirements
- Safety & NSC: contact for all vehicle related safety issues. Assist EHS and branch in diagnosis and solution for vehicle related incidents. Monitor and escalate NSC/OHS compliance
- Reporting: Responsible for publication of maintenance savings summaries on a monthly basis to review progress
- Responsible for implementation and on-going management of maintenance program, with support from Corporate Fleet Manager
- Actively participate in operational and corporate meetings providing current status of progress and supporting process related improvement initiatives
- Responsible for effective execution vendor management initiatives including branch engagement and vendor compliancy Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner and maintain effective relationships with internal departments and staff while maintaining confidentiality
Education and Experience
- Post secondary education in a relevant field
- Experience in vehicle maintenance, repair, and warranty management for light to medium duty truck fleets
- Automotive Technician trade certification or CAFS designation considered an asset
- Strong working knowledge of vehicle maintenance programs and warranty recovery
- Proven experience with vendor negotiation and performance management
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and internal enterprise systems
- Demonstrated understanding of, and adherence to, Finning policies and procedures, including safety and NSC OHS requirements
- High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer focused mindset
- Strong time management, prioritization, and independent problem-solving skills
