Position Responsibilities
The School of Trades & Technology is looking for an Automotive Service Technician Instructor - Continuous (Probationary) Faculty Member - to teach and develop curriculum in the Automotive Service Technician Apprenticeship program. The successful candidate will be expected to be an active member of the faculty and polytechnic community, participating fully in activities undertaken by the program.
Job Duties will include:
- Maintain, develop and instruct the theory and shop components of the Alberta Automotive Service Technician Apprenticeship program
- Ongoing planning and curriculum review
- Participate in school, program, and other polytechnic service committees
- Program promotion and student recruitment

Required Qualifications
- Alberta Journeyperson Certificate in Automotive Service Technician
- Inter-provincial Red Seal Certificate
- Minimum 5 years post-journeyperson work experience
- Intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Aptitude for mentoring and coaching others
- Comfortable with public speaking, and able to convey course topics to diverse students and learning styles
Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Experience teaching post-secondary learners through both in-person and online formats
- Preference will be given to candidates with Journeyperson certification in one or more additional related trades
