At Capital Automotive Group, technology plays a critical role in keeping our dealerships running smoothly. We're looking for a Tier 1 IT Support Technician who enjoys solving problems, helping people, and making technology easier for others.

This role is the front line of our IT team - the person employees turn to when they need help. If you're someone who takes pride in figuring things out, supporting your teammates, and continuously learning new technologies, we'd love to meet you.

You'll work with a supportive IT team while helping multiple dealerships across Alberta stay connected and productive.

What You'll Do

Be the First Line of Support
 

  • Respond to help desk requests through phone, email, chat, and in-person support.
  • Help employees get back to work quickly by diagnosing and resolving technical issues.


Troubleshoot & Solve Problems
 

  • Support Windows and macOS environments.
  • Resolve issues related to Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, network connectivity, and peripherals such as printers and scanners.


Deploy Technology
 

  • Set up and deploy new workstations from unboxing to desk.
  • Image, configure, and install hardware and software for new employees.


Protect Our Systems
 

  • Perform password resets and access requests following strong security protocols to protect company data.


Improve How We Work
 

  • Contribute to our internal knowledge base by documenting solutions and improving procedures.


Work with Vendors
 

  • Coordinate with third-party vendors for warranty repairs or specialized support.


Collaborate with the IT Team
 

  • Escalate complex issues to Tier 2 support with detailed notes and diagnostics.

Physical & Logistical Requirements
 

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (printers, monitors, UPS units, etc.)
  • Comfortable using basic tools for equipment installation
  • Valid driver's license with a clean drivers abstract is required for travel between dealerships
  • Participation in a rotating weekend on-call schedule and occasional after-hours maintenance windows

Qualifications & Experience
 

  • CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification preferred, or 1-2 years of hands-on IT support experience
  • Experience with Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, and remote desktop tools
  • Strong documentation and typing skills (approx. 60 WPM)
