Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager of GSE and Facilities, this individual is responsible for the coordination of repairs and maintenance of YTZ Ground Service Equipment (GSE), ordering parts required for GSE repairs, along with controlling inventory and organization of GSE parts.

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Coordinate and assign GSE repairs and preventive maintenance (PM) work orders at Porters YTZ station.
  • Obtain competitive parts quotes.
  • Ensure all YTZ GSE equipment have scheduled maintenance programs within our systems.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance programs are performed as per equipment manuals.
  • Actively monitor and update CMMS software (Eptura) for all work orders status and parts inventories.
  • Create unit repair and maintenance cost reports from past data to identify equipment replacement suggestions.
  • Order GSE parts as needed for repairs and maintenance, ensuring parts are always on hand for scheduled work orders.
  • Department administration duties as assigned.
  • Control, organize, track, handle and stock GSE parts.
  • Build strong relationships with our GSE team members and Porter colleagues.
  • Aid outstations GSE team when necessary with coordinating and scheduling repairs, maintenance and inventory tracking/ordering.
  • Aid YTZ GSE technicians and mechanics with repairs when necessary.
  • Actively participate in Porter's Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

 

  • Knowledge of Ground Service Equipment (GSE) operations and maintenance
  • Possession of, or eligibility to obtain a 310T/310S license is considered an asset
  • Experience in parts inventory control would be an asset
  • Experience in planning and assigning tasks/work orders would be an asset
  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to learn, adapt to and apply new technologies, service procedures and technical specifications
  • Effective time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply equipment operation and maintenance manuals
  • Demonstrates professionalism, collaboration, and respectful workplace behaviours
  • Ability to work hours outside of regular business hours, including evenings or weekends, as required to meet operational needs
  • Valid Class G (or higher) driver's license with an acceptable driver's abstract, in accordance with company standards and applicable legislation
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Demonstrated reliability in meeting scheduled work commitments
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearances, in accordance with applicable regulation
