Job Description
The Operations Supervisor - Vehicle Inspection & Preparation (Rentals) is responsible for supervising and coordinating standardized pre-delivery inspection (PDI) and vehicle preparation activities to ensure rental RV units meet established quality, safety, and inspection standards prior to release.
This role oversees inspection and preparation teams in a production-style environment, manages inspection-line sequencing, staging, and workflow, verifies inspection results, and authorizes unit release. The supervisor ensures consistent quality outcomes, efficient operations, regulatory compliance, and safe work practices while supporting team performance and operational targets.
Washing and detailing functions are supervised solely to support inspection workflow efficiency and vehicle readiness and are not the primary focus of this position.
Main Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily pre-delivery inspection (PDI) and vehicle preparation operations
- Manage inspection-line sequencing, staging, and workflow to meet throughput targets
- Ensure inspections are completed using standardized checklists and quality standards
- Verify inspection results and authorize vehicle release when standards are met
- Supervise RV Wash and RV Detailing teams as inspection-support functions
- Monitor quality metrics, inspection results, and productivity levels
- Conduct quality audits and inspection reviews
- Identify workflow issues and implement process improvements
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of inspection and preparation staff
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback
- Enforce workplace safety procedures and conduct toolbox talks
- Coordinate with Rentals, Operations, and Logistics teams
- Maintain accurate inspection, quality, and production records
- Manage workload fluctuations while maintaining inspection standards and operational efficiency
- Perform other related supervisory duties as required
Employment Requirements
- Completion of secondary school (high school diploma or equivalent)
- Previous experience in vehicle inspection, quality control, or production/preparation environments
- Supervisory or lead experience in an operations, inspection, or production setting
- Experience working in an RV rental environment with direct interaction with customers
- Knowledge of standardized inspection and quality control processes
- Working knowledge of RV and vehicle preparation, washing, and detailing processes
- Strong organizational, scheduling, and people-management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to read and follow instructions and safety procedures
- Flexible availability, including weekends and peak seasonal periods
- Additional language skills considered an asset
