Description
The Fleet Manager owns the full lifecycle of Sunbelt Solomon and Trinity Power's rental fleet. This hybrid role combines fleet operations, product development, manufacturing oversight, QA/QC governance, ERP data integrity, and technical sales support. The role exists to ensure the company's equipment is safe, reliable, scalable, market-aligned, cost-effective, and technically differentiated. This position operates with high autonomy and accountability in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.
Fleet Integrity & Standards
- Establish and maintain equipment and component standards for all rental products.
- Define and enforce QA/QC procedures across manufacturing, repairs, and modifications.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and internal quality standards.
Product Development & Engineering
- Own the product roadmap [DJ1.1][NF1.2]for rental equipment.
- Lead design reviews, pilot builds, and complex equipment modifications.
- Partner with Sales and customers to improve existing products and introduce new offerings.
Fleet Operations, Manufacturing & Repairs
- Oversee execution of fleet repairs, manufacturing, and major modifications.
- Coordinate internal teams and vendors to minimize downtime and control costs.
Supply Chain & Purchasing
- Lead sourcing strategy for equipment, components, and services.
- Manage vendor relationships, pricing structures, and performance expectations.
- Oversee acquisition and disposal of rental fleet assets.
Financial & CapEx Ownership
- Develop and manage fleet repair, maintenance, and manufacturing budgets.
- Prepare short-, mid-, and long-term CapEx plans in collaboration with leadership.
- Evaluate ROI for new products, fleet expansion, and surplus asset disposition.
ERP, Data & Systems
- Own equipment specifications, BOMs, QA/QC records, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of fleet and product data in ERP and engineering databases.
Sales & Technical Leadership
- Act as senior technical authority for complex customer projects.
- Support system design, equipment selection, custom solutions, and technical costing.
- Assist with sourcing non-standard equipment and coordinating third-party vendors when required.
Training & Team Development
- Provide technical training to Sales, Operations, and Shop teams.
- Mentor and develop junior technical and operational staff.
Requirements
- Strong technical background (Power Technologist, Electrical Technologist, or relevant trade).
- 7+ years experience in fleet management, product engineering, manufacturing, or power rental.
- Proven experience with QA/QC program development and manufacturing oversight.
- Strong business acumen with budget and CapEx responsibility.
- High ownership mindset, strong communicator, and results-driven.
