Body Shop Prepper / Painter (Night Shift)
Schedule: Monday to Friday | 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM

The Role
This position is responsible for supporting body shop operations through high-quality preparation and painting of heavy-duty vehicles during night shift hours. The Prepper / Painter plays a key role in ensuring repaired units meet quality, finish, and delivery standards.
Prep and Paint Work - 80% of your time is spent here
- Prepare vehicles and components for paint, including sanding, masking, filling, and priming
- Mix paints and materials according to specifications and safety standards
- Apply paint and coatings using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Ensure finishes meet quality, colour match, and durability standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Reports and Process Support - 10%
- Accurately track time and document work completed on repair orders
- Follow established paint and prep procedures to ensure consistency and quality
- Communicate issues or concerns related to materials, equipment, or repairs
Other Duties - 10%
- Review work instructions and repair notes provided by Body Shop Advisors
- Support final inspections and touch-ups as required
- Assist with shop organization, material handling, and cleanup
- Follow all safety, environmental, and workplace procedures
Education / Certification
- Body Shop Prepper or Painter training is an asset
- Experience with heavy-duty or automotive paint systems is an asset
- Valid Class 5 driver's license is required
Experience
- Previous experience as a body shop prepper, painter, or paint assistant preferred
- Experience in a heavy-duty or automotive body shop environment is an asset
- Ability to follow repair procedures, safety standards, and quality requirements
- Comfortable working independently during night shift hours
