As a Business Strategist, you will ensure Mobility field operations have the right vehicles and equipment to deliver safe, efficient, and reliable service. You will analyze business processes, identify risks and gaps, and develop data driven solutions that support operational readiness, cost optimization, and continuous improvement. This role works closely with field operations, Fleet, Safety, and other partners to execute strategic initiatives that balance long term goals with day-to-day needs. Primary duties include:
- Analyze processes to identify inefficiencies, risks, and improvement opportunities; provide actionable recommendations.
- Support needs assessments, forecasting, cost modeling, and tracking of vehicle and equipment growth units and replacement plans.
- Oversee billing, equipment maintenance strategies, hired equipment tracking, maintenance reporting, commissioning, and safety notifications.
- Lead large scale rollouts of vehicles, equipment, and technology upgrades.
- Participate in safety reviews and support continuous improvement efforts.
Qualifications
- A degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Science, or Technology, with 5 years of experience in areas such as project management, performance measurement, strategic planning, financial management, fleet management, or operational coordination.
- Minimum of 5 years in an operational environment.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
- Experience with reporting/dashboard tools (e.g., Geotab) is an asset.
- Strong customer service focus and ability to influence and collaborate across teams.
- Proven experience improving processes and implementing operational efficiencies.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.

Workstyle: This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.
