Reporting to the Field Service Manager the Field Service Technician is responsible for providing service and field installation, preventative maintenance, commissioning, repair, troubleshooting, and inspection services for all Trojan Technologies equipment located on customer sites in a defined region. You can expect the on-site work to include electrical, mechanical, controls/PLC, chemical, and customer training. 

This position is part of the Field Service Team located in Great Toronto Area and will be remote.

In this role, a typical day will look like:

 

  • Travel between 85-90% of the time in your company-provided vehicle, supporting customers within Ontario; however, customer needs and team coverage may require travel outside of Ontario. The successful candidate must be available to travel into the United States as required for service and training.
  •  Overnight stays: You may need to stay overnight or even be away for the entire week, if required.
  • Perform service & field installation, preventative maintenance, commissioning, repair, troubleshooting, and inspection services for all Trojan Technologies equipment located on customer sites within Ontario. On-site work could include electrical, mechanical, controls/PLC, chemical, and customer training.
  • Promote a positive customer experience and serve as on-site customer contact for technical and service-related problems.
  • Submit prompt, accurate service reports that affect billing, inventory, instrument history, and instrument failure.


The essential requirements of the job include:
 

  • 3+ years of experience in a technical role - we're looking for someone who has a background in troubleshooting, diagnostics, repair, and preventative maintenance.
  • Electrical knowledge is mandatory - Ability to interpret electrical drawings and work with high-voltage equipment
  • Availability to travel 75-80% of the time (mandatory) 
  • Availability to have overnight stays - average 2 to 3 per week (mandatory)
  • Previous field service experience working with industrial equipment, ideally within the water treatment industry (i.e., experience with UV or municipal water treatment).
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record and valid passport to travel to the US.


The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate's position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $75.000 -$100.000 CAD per year. This job is also eligible for 5% bonus. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off and medical/dental/vision insurance to eligible employees.
