CMM Operator

As industry leader in the automotive industry for metal stamping and assembly, Kapco Tool & Die has a career opportunity for a permanent, full-time Quality Engineer. Our stamping processes utilize both progressive and tandem dies, specializing in deep draw, aluminum, ultra high strength steel (UHSS) and complex stamping dies.

Job Summary

 

• Program and Operate CMM to perform part/fixture layouts
• Assess design, stability, and functionality of checking fixtures
• Perform and assess Gauge R&R studies
• Perform and assess capability studies
• Perform and assess forming analysis
• Produce sample inspection packages to submit to customer
• Schedule and lead 106 and 300 PC runs
• Manage and maintain ISO operating system

Job Requirements

 

• College or University engineering graduate, with a focus in Quality Engineering/Automotive option;
• Minimum 3-5 years experience shop-floor experience using check fixtures, quality control checks, segregating non-conforming material in an ISO environment
• 1-2 years experience in operating CMM is preferred
• Proficient in GD&T
• Experience in metal stampings and/or welded assemblies is an asset
• Knowledge of Quality Systems including, control plans and operator instructions using ISO standards
• Monday to Friday with weekend work periodically
