About You:

As a Shot Blaster, you are part of Best People working as a team responsible for the staging, sorting and cleaning of production jigs and fixtures. Utilizing our Best Systems, you complete your task work independently with minimal supervision. You identify potential issues and report those to your Team Leader and/or Group Leader; together you develop timely solutions to resolve potential issues. You achieve Best Results by embracing our team and contributing your knowledge and experience. Job Overview: 

With safety as our guiding principle, we perform critical process cleaning in an industrial setting. Jig cleaning requires the use of shot peening equipment and zinc shot (pellets); use and placement of the correct jig fixtures; loading and unloading of jigs; lifting heavy bags of zinc shot; pushing / pulling jig carts; recognizing broken or unusable jigs, etc., and various other tasks as required to meet customer requirements. All Shot Blasters & Jig Inspectors will be required to rotate with their fellow team members to reduce ergonomic issues. All Shot Blasters will be required to perform other cleaning activities as needed to complete the work and meet customer requirements, including, but not limited to shot blasting and jig inspection.

Shot Blaster Necessary Skills:
 

  • Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, and bend throughout the shift.
  • Ability to safely work in a high-paced industrial environment.
  • Ability to understand and follow both written & oral instructions.
  • Must be able to work well with others in a team environment.
  • Must be able to make sound decisions and/or escalate to supervision when confronted with safety and/or production issues that require immediate action.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Shot Blaster Necessary Requirements:
 

  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work variable shifts including weekends.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Must be able to safely work in a high-paced industrial environment; have a general understanding of industrial safety practices and safe lifting techniques; be able to operate and maintain jig cleaning equipment.
  • This is a physically demanding job - must be able to work in hot, dusty, & noisy environment, wear PPE, push equipment, stand/walk for extended periods of time, twisting/bending at waist level, and grasp and/or grip tools/equipment.
