Fleet Maintenance Manager

About the Role
As Fleet Maintenance Manager you will:
- Provide hands-on leadership to a team of licensed 310T mechanics and apprentices, fostering a high-performance, safety-first culture;
- Oversee all maintenance and repair activities through the work order system;
- Coordinate with operations to schedule annual and preventative maintenance for all vehicles and equipment;
- Respond to vehicle breakdowns and emergencies, ensuring timely communication and resolution;
- Apply an ownership mindset to control costs, maximize uptime, and ensure efficient use of shop resources;
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of shop staff;
- Ensure vehicles remain properly certified and documented;
- Manage fuel usage and ensure tanks and pumps are operational;
- Oversee parts procurement and vendor management to ensure timely delivery and quality;
- Provide monthly performance and uptime reports to management;
- Liaise with third parties (insurance, MTO, repair shops) to ensure quality service and compliance.
About You
Your skills and experience include:
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Fleet Manager or Service Manager in a medium to large shop, or related skills and experience;
- Truck and Coach Technician (310T) license is a definite asset;
- Experience with commercial fleet preventative maintenance programs including light to heavy trucks, vacuum trucks, and farm equipment;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to adapt to changes on short notice;
- Demonstrated leadership and good communication skills, with the ability to adjust your communication style as needed;
- A positive attitude;
- Familiarity with fleet management software and other industry related tools.
