Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Licensed) 421A

Tomlinson is seeking to hire a Heavy Equipment Mechanic based out of our Heavy Equipment Shop at 5151 Albion Road, Ottawa. This position is full-time permanent position.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
 

• Servicing and repairing of all heavy equipment in construction
• Performing diagnostic testing to identify the malfunction as well as post-repair testing to ensure it was successful
• Able to complete repairs to manufacturers' specifications and legislated requirements
• Communicate successfully with the operators of the heavy equipment, potentially providing preventative advice or further instruction
• Preparation of accurate written repair order sheets and reports
• Interpretation of service manuals, schematics, lube charts, repair orders, etc.

WORKING CONDITIONS
 

• Overtime as required
• Work successfully and efficiently with minimal supervision

EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS
 

• 421A Licensed
• At least 4 years' experience
• Experience with diesel engine equipment and some experience with gasoline engine experience, specifically Caterpillar & John Deer and Volvo experience.
• Safety training and experience is an asset
