Come grow with us...North American Stamping is expanding and looking to hire. We are looking for a New Launch Quality Engineer to join our New Launch Team in Woodstock ON.

The position duties will include, but are not limited to: 
 

  • Act as the customer contact for all assigned new launch quality issues and represent NASG as required to resolve issues
  • On-time completion of all assigned APQP milestones, timelines, and tasks
  • Active participation in company-wide APQP meetings
  • Creation and maintenance of Control Plans, FMEA's, Flow Diagrams and In-Process Inspection documentation
  • Support NL Tooling and Advanced Engineering in tooling and equipment review, development, and buy-off
  • Provide instructions to plant manufacturing group related to new launch part inspection
  • Lead and coordinate gage design review meetings and purchase of applicable gages
  • Assist plant manufacturing with inspection, SPC, gage use
  • Support plant EPC activity review for new launch product to identify and countermeasure new launch quality concerns
  • Participate in and lead Problem Solving activities for the timely resolution to internal and external CAR's and customer quality related issues for new launch parts
  • CMM programming and operation in support of new launch activity (parts and gaging)
  • Perform weld / assembly validation (cut and etch, push-out, torque, tensile test, etc..) as required
  • Preparation and submission of initial customer PPAP as required
  • Perform routine inspections, dimensional studies, and investigations, as necessary
  • Ensure proper containment procedures are followed when poor quality is detected
  • Support manufacturing when abnormalities occur, solve the problem or escalate upward
  • Ensure that all abnormalities to the standards are documented, escalated, and resolved while working together with Team Members to improve the standard for better Safety, Quality, and Productivity
  • Provide support in the absence of the New Launch Quality Manager
  • Participate in New Product Development as necessary
  • Support Internal/External/Customer audits as required
  • In addition to performing primary duties, the individual shall provide support where deemed necessary by Management


Qualifications we are looking for include, but are not limited to:
 

  • Bachelor degree in metrology, industrial, mechanical, electrical or electronics engineering


(Or relevant experience)
 

  • Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
  • Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience
  • Minimum 3 years in automotive manufacturing
  • Minimum 5 years cumulative in Quality functions
  • Thorough understanding of Control Plans, FMEA's, Flow Diagrams and In-Process Inspection
  • Thorough knowledge of GD&T, SPC, Gage R&R, and gage use
  • CMM programming and operation
  • Understanding of weld / assembly validation (cut and etch, push-out, torque, tensile test, etc)
  • APQP, PPAP, MSA, Core Tools
  • Thorough understanding of Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Detail oriented and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership abilities.
  • Demonstrate and model Hands-on, involved, Go-See approach
  • Fundamentals of IATF 16949
  • Highly organized
  • Strong Interpersonal communication skills
  • Will have the ability to work schedule that allows completion of the job on a daily basis


Travel:
 

  • Must be willing to travel as needed throughout the US, Canada and Mexico to visit manufacturing sites, suppliers and customers.
