The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Supervisor, Operations Administration, this role is responsible for ensuring Municipal and Provincial compliance related to the Town's Right-of-Way Occupancy Permits and other road use permits. You will inspect, coordinate, and monitor a variety of road-related activities to ensure safety, efficiency, and legislative adherence. You will be responsible for conducting inspections, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, and supporting operational excellence.

As the Operations Coordinator, Roads and Fleet, you will perform the following duties, including but not limited to:

 

  • Conduct pre, post, and warranty site inspections for road-related permits (Right-of-Way Occupation, Road Closures, Encroachments, etc.)
  • Attend construction and development meetings to provide guidance on road permit processes
  • Respond to service requests from staff, elected officials, and the public; participate in 24-hour on-call rotation
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and contribute to special projects
  • Liaise with departments and contractors to support corporate policies, safety, and maintenance


The Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive professional with a post-secondary diploma in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field. Our ideal candidate has 3 years of road maintenance, road construction, or related experience and a strong knowledge of applicable legislation such as the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and Highway Traffic Act. Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation considered an asset.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated customer service excellence and the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment. We are seeking an individual with superior organizational skills, a demonstrated ability to problem-solve in field and office settings, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate for Operations Coordinator, Roads and Fleet will be required to work a flexible schedule, including in the office, on-site inspections, remotely and after hours (as required).

This position offers a salary range of $87,552.45 - $109,403.06 plus a competitive benefits package.
