Automotive Painter

We are looking for a new team member to join our body shop team at Toyota Lachine!

As an Apprentice Automotive Painter, you will work under the supervision of a Journeyperson Painter to paint damaged vehicle bodies and parts in accordance with the quality standards established by vehicle manufacturers, insurance companies, and the Spinelli Group. You will assist with all stages of the refinishing process, including surface preparation, painting, and finishing, while following health and safety procedures and meeting production deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Prepare vehicle surfaces, mix paint products, and apply paint in accordance with repair estimates and the standards of manufacturers, insurers, and the Spinelli Group.
- Inspect completed work, correct any imperfections as needed, and ensure a high-quality finish efore vehicle reassembly.
- Safely use, maintain, and handle painting tools, equipment, and materials while complying with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including the proper use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Monitor paint inventory and notify the supervisor when supplies need to be replenished.
- Collaborate with the body shop team, participate in training sessions, and stay up to date with new painting techniques and technologies.
- Perform any other related duties as required to support operational needs and management directives.

Requirements:

- Hold a valid apprentice competency card issued by the Automotive Parity Committee.
- Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record and be able to operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
- Communicate effectively in either English or French.
- Demonstrate attention to detail, a strong commitment to quality, and an excellent work ethic.
- Be a team player with a willingness to learn and continuously develop your skills.
