Your Role and Responsibilities:
As a Dealership Controller, you will be responsible for managing accounting functions and financial reporting. You will also provide sales and expense analyses to identify potential issues and opportunities to improve profitability.
Reporting to the Chief Controller, you will be responsible for regularly and accurately reporting the overall financial situation of the dealership to the Dealer Principal / General Manager. You will prepare comparative analyses against monthly and annual forecasts.
What Will Drive Your Day-to-Day?
- Ensure financial planning, budgeting, and expense control;
- Oversee or perform tasks to ensure the monthly reconciliation of accounts, including (but not limited to): cash, accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts payable, manufacturer financial statements, payroll management, calculation of vehicle sales commissions, and intercompany accounts;
- Meet all monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines required by head office and the Dealer Principal / General Manager (reconciliations, monthly and quarterly reports, financial analyses, year-end reports, etc.);
- Review and ensure compliance with financial and human resources management (Culture & Talent) policies issued by head office;
- Participate in senior management meetings regarding forecasting and budgeting;
- Act as a mentor to the team under your responsibility and monitor performance;
- Conduct analyses or respond to specific requests from the Dealer Principal or Dealership General Managers.
The Ideal Profile:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience;
- Experience working within an automotive dealership is an asset;
- Strong sense of diplomacy, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, combined with the ability to interact with senior management and gain buy-in from decision-makers;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Ability to manage priorities, multitask, and meet established deadlines and goals;
- Results-oriented and career-driven individual, with an entrepreneurial mindset and a strong desire to succeed;
- Attention to detail, autonomy, and resourcefulness;
- Excellent proficiency in Word and Excel, and high comfort level with standard office tools (MS Office, SharePoint, etc.);
- Knowledge of CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, and Tableau computer systems is an asset;
- Experience managing large commercial accounts (corporate sales) is an asset;
- Prior sales experience, preferably business-to-business (B2B), is an asset;
- Strong knowledge of CDK and/or ADP is an asset;
- Availability to work in-store 2 to 3 times per week (details to be discussed).
