This role is based in Milton and offers an easy commute from Brampton, Mississauga, Guelph, Kitchener, Burlington, and Hamilton.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Registered 310T Apprentice - 3rd or 4th Year
- Hands-on experience working on heavy-duty or transit vehicles (preferred)
- Strong willingness to learn and grow in the trade
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently with guidance when needed
- Nice to Have:
- Valid inspector's license (or interest in obtaining)
- Commercial driver's license (CDL) or willingness to pursue
Skills:
- Ability to work independently
- Strong time management skills
- Well-developed communication skills (both written and verbal)
Key Accountabilities:
Fleet Maintenance & Vehicle Diagnostics and Repair
- Perform standard maintenance repairs
- Maintain accurate records
- Perform troubleshooting and diagnostic tests on transit vehicles
- Identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues
Compliance and Safety
- Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures
- Adhere to Provincial and Municipal laws and regulations governing the location
- Provide updates on maintenance progress and potential issues
- Prioritize safety in all aspects of work
Parts Management and Inventory
- Procure necessary parts for repairs and maintenance
- Manage and organize parts inventory
- Track parts usage and reorder as needed
Schedule: Sunday to Thursday - 2 pm to 10:30 pm
Wage & Benefits:
- Competitive apprentice pay (80% or 90% based on level), with the opportunity to earn up to $43/hour upon achieving Journeyperson (JP) status
- Vacation: 3 weeks
- Benefits: 85/15 Split (Sunlife)
