Day in the Life
Looking for a hands-on role where craftsmanship, precision, and pride in your work matter? As an Automotive / Body Repairer and Painter with Miller Paving Northern, you'll work in a dedicated shop environment supporting our fleet of vehicles and equipment that keep our operations moving.
Your day will involve restoring, repairing, and refinishing vehicles affected by wear, collision, or corrosion. From surface preparation and rust repair to painting and finishing, your work will ensure company vehicles are safe, professional-looking, and ready for service. You'll collaborate closely with a small team while also working independently on detailed repair tasks that require accuracy and consistency.
This is a physically active role suited for someone who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and taking pride in high-quality finishes.
Responsibilities
- Performing light collision and body repairs on company vehicles and equipment
- Preparing surfaces for painting, including sanding, masking, and cleaning
- Painting and refinishing vehicles using proper techniques and equipment
- Completing rust repairs and preventative maintenance work
- Installing decals and graphics on vehicles as required
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized workspace
- Working effectively within a team while managing individual work assignments
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in automotive body repair and painting
- Strong knowledge of automotive painting operations, processes, and equipment
- Ability to maintain high productivity while delivering quality workmanship
- Physically capable of performing demanding tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and working in confined or awkward positions
- Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours as operationally required
Preferred Qualifications
- 310B License or working towards it
- Experience working on fleet vehicles or heavy equipment
- Familiarity with shop safety practices and procedures
Compensation Data
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour
