Job description

Our dealership in Laval is seeking an Auto Parts Manager.

Achieve a return on investment for the dealership in line with departmental goals regarding parts inventory. Achieve set objectives using methods such as appropriate purchasing practices, inventory management, human resources allocation, safety, pricing, merchandising, presentation, and advertising.

The primary duties are listed below, but the incumbent may be assigned other responsibilities:

- Establish departmental objectives in collaboration with their supervisor and achieve them.
- Manage their department’s annual operating budget.
- Monitor their department’s sales reports and productivity. Develop and use a computerized report to track sales losses in their department.
- Analyze monthly reports on sales, expenses, and inventory to ensure profitability targets are met.

Administrative tracking tasks:

- Track and monitor invoicing, accounts receivable, claims, and credits to verify their accuracy;
- Ensure that all parts are properly labeled so that the dealership can receive full credits from the manufacturer;
- Ensure that credits are issued for returned parts;
- Manage parts returns and remove them from inventory when credits are granted;
- Track parts to be replaced (under warranty) and parts to be returned according to the manufacturer’s requirements;
- Reconcile inventory and send a copy to the accounting department at the end of the month. Provide the accounting department with information regarding appreciation and depreciation at the end of the month;
- Provide the accounting department with timely information regarding claims to prepare the accounts receivable list;
- Manage shipping and receiving activities to ensure timely processing;
- Establish and implement theft prevention measures in the parts department;
- Manage the annual parts inventory;
- Manage the wholesale parts sales program to generate profits;
- Maintain a balanced inventory that meets the needs of the after-sales service, the body shop, wholesale customers, and the general public.
