A. Duties & Responsibilities
 

  1. Participate in all new equipment builds (internal and external).
  2. Coordinate / assist in complete start-up and commissioning of all automation systems.
  3. Coordinate all required field inspections (PSHSR, ESA, etc.) as it pertains to the equipment.
  4. Coordinate approved changes to existing equipment.
  5. Assist in new equipment commissioning, start-up and training.
  6. Be actively involved in continuous improvement activities. Communicate opportunities for improvement through the appropriate channels.
  7. Develop & modify PLC & HMI programs on new and existing equipment.
  8. Configure and program all IPL printers accordingly.
  9. Immediately correct or report any unsafe conditions.
  10. Any other duties assigned by the Process Engineering Manager.


B. Minimum Qualifications
 

  1. Experience in building and start up of assembly equipment.
  2. Understanding of PLC-based machine logic.
  3. Trade certification and/or college diploma in Machine Tool Building or Automation

 
C. Required Skills
 

  1. Knowledge of pneumatic circuits and systems.
  2. Knowledge of PLC-based equipment; some PLC program knowledge.
  3. Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic, electric and mechanical equipment.
  4. Ability to select and install sensors and other machine components
  5. Knowledge of and ability to use machining tools and equipment.
  6. Ability to read, understand and update electrical, pneumatic and mechanical drawings for assembly machines and equipment.
  7. Understanding of machine guarding and other safety requirements.
