Reporting to the Finance Director, the Field Finance Manager is responsible for accelerating the performance of Carquest within our Independent business channel by providing financial and consultive support to our independent owners and leading the prospective acquisition of independent locations within the channel of business.

This role focuses on delivering strategies that accelerate performance through robust performance analysis and benchmarking, identifying and completing prospective business acquisitions, managing the company's liabilities in A/R, enforcing company credit policies and identifying inventory opportunities within our independent partners' stores. This role is suited to candidates with strong leadership, financial and influence skills who can navigate across multiple internal and external stakeholders. A qualified candidate will have experience in project management, business financial analysis and consulting, and mergers and acquisitions. Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 

  • Creates and implements strategic assessments and plans to support company growth within the channel by assisting our independent partners achieve their store growth potential.
  • Develops business relationships and coaches our independent partners' stores to achieve enhanced profitability and operate under sound financial practices.
  • Leads company store acquisitions projects; deal evaluations, negotiations, preparation of legal and closing documents for store purchase or sale.
  • Builds strong working relationships with sales teams, leadership and corporate legal and credit departments.
  • Monitors account receivables from Independent partners and enforces company credit policies; resolves billing issues, credit limits and credit holds with our credit team. Assists with the credit investigation for all new stores. Reviews and resolves bad debt issues. Maintains credit files and monitor PPSA filings for continuation on Independent stores.
  • Other duties assigned as needed.

Technical Qualifications:
 

  • Ability to read and comprehend income statements, balance sheets and statements of cash-flows to create pro-forma statements, complete benchmarking and make recommendations to improve performance.
  • Skilled in completing business valuations and navigating the acquisition process from initial valuation through closing. Includes the ability to successfully navigate approval processes and gain alignment across multiple stakeholders.
  • Possess exemplary Excel skills and ability to develop financial models for valuation and analysis; able to leverage technology to efficiently model different scenarios and complete benchmarking analysis in a simplified manner.
  • Ability to review and negotiate contracts to ensure the protection and benefit realization of Carquest.
  • Capable of developing and presenting information in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner. Can respond to questions from groups of senior management, business owners, department heads, and the broader business teams.
  • Bilingual French/English an asset.


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting or related field required. 3 to 10+ years of experience in a related field. Exposure to small businesses is a plus. Experience working within automotive industry is an asset.
