SHW AG is the global leader in the production ofCO2-optimised pumps, engine components for all kinds of powertrains andhigh-performance brake discs used by the international automobile industry andthe truck and off-highway segment, such as in agricultural machines,construction machines, stationary engines and wind turbines.
To strengthen our team at our Brampton, Ontario location,we are looking for a Project Buyer.
Job Description:
• Responsible for all purchasing activities related tonew program launches and engineering changes
• Ensure cost, quality, and timing targets are met whilesupporting APQP milestones and customer program requirements
• Work cross-functionally with Program Management,Engineering, Sales, Quality and suppliers
• Program / Launch Purchasing: Lead sourcing activitiesfor new programs and product launches, Prepare/ request/ analyze/ negotiatesupplier quotations (RFQ process), Select suppliers in alignment with projecttargets (cost, quality, timing), Support make-or-buy decisions, Ensure sourcingaligned with customer nomination timing, Prepare necessary documents like NDA/LOI/ NL
• Cost Management: Achieve program cost targets (pieceprice + tooling), Conduct cost breakdown analysis and benchmarking, Tracksavings vs. budget, Support VA/VE and cost reduction initiatives
• Supplier Management: Identify and nominate suppliersfor new programs, Coordinate supplier APQP activities, Track supplier timing(tooling, PPAP, SOP readiness), Escalate supplier risks impacting launch,Resolve supplier and price issues (eg, tariffs, shipping/ transportation,supplier and location changes, bankruptcy)
• Tooling & Capex Purchasing: Source tooling andcapital equipment, Manage tooling budgets and approvals, Track tooling timingand supplier deliverables, Support tooling validation and PPAP readiness
• Cross-functional coordination: Work with Engineeringon specifications and changes, Support Program Management during launchreviews, Align with Quality on PPAP and supplier readiness, Support Salesduring customer quotation phase, Align with commodity buyers in Europe andChina on global sourcing activities
• Management: Manage purchasing activities forengineering changes (ECR/ECO), Evaluate cost and timing impact, Negotiatesupplier change costs
• Support and attend in project specific customer andsupplier workshops
• Prepare Management presentations and regular reportingincluding related KPI's
• Sourcing of indirect material (plant specific)
• Perform other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain,Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 3-8 years purchasing experience in automotiveand/ or truck and off-highway (ToH) industry
• Experience with Tier 1 or Tier 2 supplierenvironment
• New program launch experience required
• Experience with APQP / PPAP processes preferred
• Strong negotiation and analytical skills
• Robust project management skills
• Cost analysis / cost breakdown capability
• Project management mindset
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams
• Supplier development experience
• Strong Excel skills beside other MS Officeprograms
• Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP)
• Technical knowledge and experience required inIATF 16949 environment, Automotive OEM customer requirements, Tooling &injection molding / stamping / die casting / powder metallurgy / machining.
• Willing to travel to supplier

Salary Range:
$60,000 - $80,000
