Job description

Build your mining experience while working on some of the largest equipment in the industry. As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you'll support a growing mining operation in Northern BC's Golden Triangle, maintaining and rebuilding critical equipment that keeps production moving safely and efficiently.

Whether you're already working in mining or looking to transition from construction equipment, this is an opportunity to expand your technical expertise, work on large-scale mining equipment, and accelerate your career in a rotational camp-based environment.

Base Wage: $52.31 per hour. Additional premiums will apply.
Location: Prince George, BC
Schedule: 14x14

What You'll Do

 

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems on heavy mining and construction equipment.
  • Perform equipment overhauls, preventive maintenance, and component replacements.
  • Support new equipment builds and commissioning activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues using computerized and manual diagnostic tools.
  • Inspect equipment and identify opportunities to improve reliability and performance.
  • Work independently in remote field environments while maintaining high safety standards.
  • Follow established safety procedures and contribute to continuous improvement of safe work practices.
  • Perform the physical requirements of the role, including lifting up to 50 lbs.


What You Bring

You bring Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification with Interprovincial Red Seal endorsement and strong experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment. You are committed to working safely in remote field environments and take pride in delivering reliable, high-quality maintenance support.

 

  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and willingness to travel.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
  • Comfortable working in remote locations, varying weather conditions, and confined spaces when required.


Nice to haves:

 

  • Experience working with Komatsu equipment.
