This position is eligible for a $3,000 hiring bonus.
As a Field Technician (CES - Customer Equipment Solutions) at United Rentals, you’ll have the opportunity to use your skills to maintain and repair complex equipment safely and professionally, with great skill and little or no supervision. Here are some of the additional responsibilities:
- Perform maintenance and repairs on complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems across a wide range of rental and customer-owned tools and equipment, while exercising a high degree of independent judgment.
- Travel to the customer’s worksite to repair or maintain their equipment or rented equipment (you will be responsible for ensuring the service vehicle remains clean and presentable).
- Participate in the training of junior technicians, as needed.
- Maintain comprehensive written or electronic documentation related to the work performed (work orders) on a daily basis and within the prescribed timeframes.
- Assist with the pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
- Perform other tasks as requested, as needed.
Job requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- More than five years of experience in the repair or maintenance of equipment and tools.
- Advanced mechanical skills and practical knowledge of tools.
- In-depth knowledge of construction equipment and advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams.
- Must own the tools required for the position.
- Excellent customer service, team spirit, and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to frequently lift objects weighing up to 20 kg (45 lb).
- Language requirement: Fluency in French, both spoken and written.
