Job description

Main responsibilities:

    • Perform electrical installation, troubleshooting, and repairs on tracked and wheeled off-road utility vehicles.
    • Assemble, route, and secure wiring harnesses, connectors, lighting systems, sensors, and electronic control units (ECUs).
    • Diagnose electrical issues using multimeters, diagnostic tools, and manufacturer documentation.
    • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and build instructions.
    • Conduct pre-delivery inspections to ensure vehicles meet quality and safety standards.
    • Support engineering with prototype builds, electrical testing, and system improvements.
    • Perform preventive maintenance and ensure all work complies with Canadian electrical and safety standards.
    • Document work performed, parts used, and test results accurately.
    • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality control teams to resolve electrical challenges.
    • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives related to electrical systems, harness design, and vehicle performance.

Education and work experience:

    • 3–5+ years of experience working with heavy-duty, off-road, or specialized vehicles (UTVs, ATVs, tracked vehicles, construction or forestry machinery).
    • Strong understanding of 12V and 24V systems, CAN-bus communication, sensors, and electronic modules.
    • Proficient with electrical diagnostics and testing equipment.
    • Ability to read and interpret detailed electrical schematics.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of vehicle systems.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
    • Experience with tracked vehicles or custom-built machinery.
    • Knowledge of hydraulic-electric integrations and control systems.
    • Harness building and wiring fabrication experience.
    • Experience supporting prototype development or R&D projects.
    • Understanding of off-road vehicle environments and ruggedized electrical components.

Training

Requirements:

    • Licensed Electrician or equivalent technical training (Automotive Electrical Technician, Industrial Electrician, etc.).

Other qualifications:

    • CQE (Certificat de qualification en électricité) is considered an asset.
