Duties may include but are not limited to:
- Facilitating student learning and establishing effective learning environments that support the acquisition of a broad range of knowledge and skills for all students;
- Demonstrating competence within the current literacies;
- Using effective assessment practices;
- Applying current learning theories and bodies of research, instructional and philosophical frameworks, theories of motivation to support effective literacy learning for all students;
- Providing opportunities for students to develop the skills needed for success;
- Accessing, managing, and evaluating information from multiple sources;
- Engaging in reflection and inquiry to support student learning;
- Engaging in life-long learning by setting personal learning goals and establishing a personal learning environment or network;
- Collaborating to improve student learning and literacy.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Applicants must have or be eligible to hold a PEI Teacher's License;
- Knowledge and experience in the automotive industry;
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills;
- Knowledge and experience with effective teaching strategies and differentiated instruction;
- Effective oral and written communication skills with students, parents and colleagues;
- Able to demonstrate teamwork and collaborative practices;
- Commitment to school community, demonstrate commitment to ongoing learning and must be able to facilitate communications with parents.
The following will be considered assets:
- Experience teaching at the senior high grade level;
- Knowledge of and experience teaching this curriculum;
- Knowledge and experience working with students;
- Red Seal in Automotive;
- Experience with Academic Learning Plans and Adaptations in the classroom;
- Experience with PowerSchool;
- Experience with IEP's and BSP's;
- Knowledge of effective assessment strategies;
- Experience with EAL students and families.
