Position Overview 

The Assistant Sales Manager at Mercedes-Benz North Vancouver plays a key leadership role in supporting the dealership's pre-owned sales operations. Reporting directly to the Sales Manager and General Manager, this position contributes strategically by driving team performance, optimizing inventory management, ensuring an exceptional customer experience, and supporting the achievement of departmental sales targets. 

The expected pay for this position is commission-based. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities 
• Actively manage the sales floor, maintaining a strong presence to support consultants, drive momentum, and ensure a high-energy, customer-focused environment. 

• Greet and engage customers early in their dealership experience, assisting in needs assessment and ensuring a smooth transition to the sales team. 

• Work closely with sales consultants throughout the sales process, providing real-time coaching, guidance, and support to move deals forward. 

• Assist in structuring, negotiating, and closing deals to maximize gross profit and improve closing ratios. 

• Support appointment generation efforts by actively participating in lead follow-up, outbound calls, and engagement strategies to drive showroom traffic. 

• Monitor daily activity on the floor, including ups, traffic flow, and follow-up, ensuring consistent execution of sales processes. 

• Conduct management introductions and customer callbacks to build trust, overcome objections, and reinforce commitment to purchase. 

• Help maintain strong customer relationships by addressing concerns promptly and ensuring a positive buying experience. 

• Lead by example in professionalism, urgency, and customer engagement to set the standard for the sales team. 

• Support sales meetings and one-on-one coaching sessions focused on improving conversion, product knowledge, and customer interaction skills. 

• Collaborate with the team to maintain an organized, presentable showroom and lot that enhances the customer experience. 

• Assist with recruiting, training, and developing sales staff with a focus on performance, accountability, and growth. 

• Perform other duties as assigned by management. 

Qualifications Required 
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an automotive sales role. 
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a management role. 
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team and drive results. 
• Strong desire to exceed customer expectations. 
• Excellent judgment and problem-solving skills. 
• Strong interpersonal, presentation, and relationship-building skills. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. 
• Ability to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse client base. 
• Broad product knowledge and experience appraising vehicles of all makes. 
• Intermediate MS Office skills. 
• Valid VSA license. 
• Legally entitled to work in Canada.
