Dealership: Sales Manager
Location: Guelph Hyundai
Classification: Full-Time, Onsite, Immediate vacancy
Salary: $80,000-$120,000 (base + bonus)

Your area of focus.

This role will focus on driving sales performance across both new and pre-owned vehicles by leading from the sales floor, coaching the sales team daily, and creating a high-performance selling culture. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing showroom traffic, converting appointments into sold units, managing CRM activity with discipline, and ensuring every lead, phone call, internet inquiry, and walk-in customers are effectively communicated and followed up with.

A key focus will be working closely with Sales Consultants and Sales Managers to improve closing ratios, strengthen deal structure, support effective desking, and drive appointments that turn into deliveries. The role requires strong leadership, hands-on coaching, consistent process execution, and the ability to hold the team accountable to activity, follow-up, customer experience, and sales results.

The successful candidate will also support marketing initiatives, build strong client relationships, maintain compliance and safety standards, and contribute to both financial performance and team development.

What drives your day-to-day?
 

  • Execute the established the short, medium, and long-term sales objectives for new and pre-owned vehicle sales
  • Develop and implement sales plans for your team to enable achieving monthly and annual goals
  • Contribute ideas to and participate in the development and implementation of the dealership's marketing and advertising initiatives
  • Be accountable for ensuring the successful conversion of iLeads to sales
  • Monitor performance metrics related to your team including sales and customer experience metrics
  • Develop and maintain relationships with our valued clients to further promote the dealership's brand within the market
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies for growth
  • Curate an exceptional client experience
  • Develop a strong team to fully execute on the sales strategy for dealership
  • Develop and encourage strong working relationships with all associates and stakeholders
  • Deliver on financial results while ensuring compliance with company policies and corporate governance
  • Promote professional development within a team environment ensuring associates are held accountable
  • Lead, demonstrate and champion a healthy and safe work environment ensuring that all safety standards, policies, procedures and compliance requirements are communicated, implemented and followed
  • Other duties as assigned


What are the must-haves...
 

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in automotive sales management experience.
  • Post-Secondary education in a related discipline would be considered an asset
  • Strong understanding of dealership accounting practices, budgeting and expense management
  • Ability to be professional and deliver exceptional service to clients
  • Proven closing ability
  • Excellent people management skills such as leadership, team development, interpersonal, coaching, mentoring, and supervisory skills
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage priorities, perform a variety of tasks and meet required deadlines and targets
  • A person of high integrity who is trusted by others and consistently honors their commitments
  • Detail oriented, self-motivated and resourceful
  • Results-driven and career focused individual with an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong desire to be successful
  • Experience using CRM systems or other automotive software systems would be considered an asset - strong CRM discipline
  • Understanding of Provincial Safety code requirements for dealerships
