Responsibilities
What you'll do...
Core Operations & Material Flow:
- Manage MP&L Functions: Oversee forward model, engineering change control, scheduling, supply chain, inventory, distribution, stockpiling, and Ford Customer Service Division (FCSD) operations.
- Production Continuity: Ensure just-in-time material flow and uninterrupted production by overseeing customer releases, production schedules, inventory, and obsolescence management.
- Schedule Optimization: Optimize production schedules for economic efficiency and proactively respond to customer, quality, shipping, and schedule changes.
Supply Chain & Logistics Management:
- Supplier Relations: Lead supplier capacity constraint management and coordinate with external logistics providers to resolve supply issues.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives for inventory reduction, cost savings, record accuracy, and process enhancements.
- Logistics Oversight: Review premium freight expedites for improvement opportunities and manage receiving/shipping discrepancies.
Systems, Data & Compliance:
- System Integrity: Maintain the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) by correcting data gaps, missed advanced ship notices, and production counts.
- Compliance & Audits: Support plant objectives including Value Chain Analysis (VCA), Ford Production System (FPS), QS9000, ISO14001, SOX, and Hazmat audits.
- Performance Tracking: Manage SQDCPME scorecards, perform monthly plant audits, and oversee the cycle verification program.
Leadership & Communication:
- Team Development: Lead and coach the departmental team on operational issues and career development; conduct performance reviews and ensure training compliance.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate critical MP&L issues, schedule updates, and supply concerns to plant and division management during daily start-up meetings.
- Resource Allocation: Prioritize key issues, allocate resources, and ensure MP&L representation in quality campaigns and inventory meetings.
Qualifications
You'll have...
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline. (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education
attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also required).
Experience:
- 5 -10 years' experience in production control or inventory management.
- 5+ years' experience as a supervisor in manufacturing.
- Proficiency in standard office Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Industrial Operations, Transportation & Logistics, Supply Chain Management & Information Systems, Applied Engineering Science, or Business management.
Experience:
- Familiarity with Ford material management systems, including Common
- Manufacturing Management System (CMMS), Corrective and Preventive Actions, (CPARs), Standard Material Flow (SMF), On-Board Logistics (OBL), and related support systems is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with plant hourly and salaried personnel, plant management, logistics carriers, and
production suppliers. - Highly developed analytical abilities and sound, rapid decision-making capabilities.
- Capacity to perform effectively under pressure and manage crises when necessary.
