Temporary position for 12 months.
As a Commercial Lines Auto, Underwriter, you will analyze risks based on established underwriting policies. You will review and diagnose concerns, provide expert opinions in accordance with underwriting rules, and develop recommendations aligned with our divisions growth ambitions. Additionally, you will create tools, methods, and processes to enhance underwriting efficiency. Your role could involve leading projects and initiatives that require extensive knowledge of commercial lines underwriting. You will collaborate with stakeholders across various fields to share ideas and solve problems, offering discipline-specific support to your unit, clients, and partners. You will report to the Commercial Lines Underwriting Manager. This role will support the Direct Agent Network (DAN) in the provinces of Ontario, Alberta and New Brunswick. More specifically, you will be required to:
- Take inbound calls to assist in developing cases to bind new and service existing risks in a call centre environment
- Coach agents and team members to write profitable risks and build a profitable book of business. Service calls from Client Care Center - Aurora

What you bring to the table
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- A minimum of three years of relevant experience
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Intermediate experience in Call Centre
- CIP designation
- Knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec
- Intermediate Working knowledge of computer applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Office 365
- Knowledge of PROV / VENT and PCS
- Available to work Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Rotation
- Available to be present at the Aurora Office for mandatory in-office monthly team building days
