Job description:

Reporting to senior management, the Sales Manager – New Vehicles is responsible for the performance of the new vehicle department. The successful candidate supervises sales consultants and sales managers, while playing a central role in operations to ensure the achievement of sales, profitability, and customer satisfaction goals. More specifically, the following tasks are assigned to this role:

Strategic and Financial Management:

    • Define monthly and annual sales, profitability, and department performance goals;
    • Establish and monitor the operating budget;
    • Implement sales and marketing strategies aligned with the manufacturer’s programs;
    • Ensure optimal inventory management (orders, turnover, inventory balance).

Operations Management:

    • Oversee all new vehicle sales activities;
    • Approve all transactions and intervene in complex or contentious situations;
    • Ensure compliance with processes, policies, and applicable regulations;
    • Maintain high standards for delivery and customer experience;
    • Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure operational efficiency.

Leadership and Team Management:

    • Motivate, mentor, and develop team members;
    • Lead regular meetings and provide ongoing training;
    • Participate in staff recruitment, onboarding, and evaluation;
    • Support sales consultants in achieving their goals and optimizing their performance;
    • Foster a collaborative work environment focused on customer service.

Sales Intervention and Support:

    • Intervene in transactions (take over) as needed;
    • Negotiate with customers and support the team in closing sales;
    • Manage challenging situations and ensure customer satisfaction;
    • Develop and maintain relationships with financial institutions and partners;
    • Conduct rigorous follow-ups on sales files and after-sales activities.

Performance Monitoring and Continuous Improvement:

    • Analyze performance indicators and customer satisfaction reports;
    • Ensure rigorous monitoring of sales tools and processes;
    • Implement concrete actions to improve results and the customer experience;
    • Contribute to customer loyalty and retention.

Requirements:

    • Significant experience in sales management within the automotive industry;
    • Strong leadership, proactivity, and the ability to motivate and develop a team;
    • Excellent negotiation skills and a strong customer-centric focus;
    • Good understanding of sales strategies, financing, and dealership operations;
    • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously;
    • Knowledge of CRM tools (Activix, Deskit, Ignite) and performance metrics (a plus).
