Job description

Autoport Limited is looking for a Senior Service Supervisor at its facility located in Eastern Passage!

The Senior Service Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operational performance of our automotive service shop while ensuring compliance with all operating and safety regulations. This role plays a key part in driving departmental efficiency, supporting safety initiatives, and aligning service operations with broader organizational objectives.

The Senior Service Supervisor is also accountable for the coaching and development of Service Supervisors, with a strong emphasis on communication, team engagement, and operational planning. This position supports the successful implementation of safety and operational initiatives, while fostering a positive and productive work environment that supports long-term success.

Major Responsibilities and Duties
 

  • Lead a team of Service Supervisors, providing clear direction, coaching, and daily operational guidance
  • Establish daily goals and work plans while ensuring departmental targets and performance expectations are achieved
  • Monitor and optimize operational processes to improve efficiency while maintaining strict safety standards
  • Ensure compliance with all operating procedures, safety regulations, and System and Site Safety Action Plans
  • Promote a strong safety culture through regular field presence, coaching, PMRC activities, and enforcement of safe work practices
  • Conduct workplace inspections, efficiency testing, and required in-field verifications under the PMRC system
  • Support training, auditing, and adherence to standard operating procedures
  • Manage vacation scheduling, review timecards, and complete daily production reporting
  • Communicate and collaborate with internal departments and third-party carriers to support service delivery and resolve operational issues
  • Partner with Port, Rail, and Operations leadership to manage inventory flow and maintain yard fluidity
  • Provide rotational on-call and vacation coverage as part of the NOVA leadership team
  • Coach and develop Service Supervisors in leading, training, and managing both supervisory and unionized employees
  • Contribute to cost-saving initiatives and identify opportunities to improve productivity and operational efficiency


Qualifications and Requirements
 

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a fast-paced operational environment, with the ability to lead and develop frontline leaders
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence, coach, and build effective working relationships
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, problem-solve, and make decisions under pressure
  • Experience working in a unionized environment, including grievance handling and labour relations, is considered an asset
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Experience in rail, marine, or automotive logistics environments is considered an asset
  • Commitment to workplace safety and experience enforcing safety standards and procedures
  • Satisfactory criminal background check required
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driver's abstract required
