Job description

SHW AG is the global leader in the production of CO2-optimised pumps, engine components for all kinds of powertrains and high-performance brake discs used by the international automobile industry and the truck and off-highway segment, such as in agricultural machines, construction machines, stationary engines and wind turbines.

To strengthen our team at our Brampton location, we are looking for a Key Account Manager. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 
• Manage all commercial aspects of assigned customers or programs and identify new opportunities within existing customers
• Serve as primary commercial contact for assigned customers
• Collaborate and work closely with Engineering, Purchasing, and Program Teams to deliver solutions and resolve customer issues
• Conduct regular customer meetings and business reviews
• Monitor customer satisfaction and address issues
• Communicate customer requirements internally
• Support escalation management
• Manage Business Development by identifying new opportunities within existing customers, supporting acquisition of new programs, developing account growth strategy, tracking upcoming RFQs and sourcing opportunities, supporting new customer acquisition when required
• Support and analyze contracts and commercial agreements
• Maintain customer sales forecasts
• Support demand planning
• Track open commercial issues
• Assist with presentations and management reporting
• Manage the RFQ & quoting activities, such as receiving and reviewing and tracking RFQs and sourcing opportunities, coordinating costing with all relevant departments, preparing and analyzing cost breakdowns and pricing proposals, creating and submitting quotations, Smart Contracting, leading price negotiations with customers, tracking quote status and following up
• Providing Program Commercial Support, which includes supporting program launches, tracking program pricing and margins, managing engineering change requests (ECR/ECO), leading customer price updates and recoveries, supporting annual cost reduction discussions
• Conduct regular customer meetings and business reviews
• Traveling to customer locations for presentations and program meetings as required
• Keeping accurate records and reports with respect to sales and prospects
• Meeting sales targets
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Sales or related field; MBA is an asset
• 5-10+ years automotive industry experience
• Experience with Tier 1/ Tier 2 suppliers
• Key account management or sales experience
• Experience working with local and global OEM customers
• Experience with RFQ processes, costing and quoting
• Experience in small or mid-sized company is a plus
• Proficient in SAP in the related field is preferred
• Strong communication, commercial, negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Technical understanding of automotive products and knowledge of automotive development cycles and practices (APQP, SOP, change management)
• Program Management awareness including program commercial support
• Financial acumen (pricing, margins, cost structures)
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams
• Hands-on mindset
• Good computer skills (MS-Office, Internet, Outlook)
• Willingness to travel across North America

Annual Salary Range:

$100,000 - $130,000 CAD
