Ray-Mont Logistics is currently seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance operations at our Vancouver terminal. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all maintenance activities for fixed and mobile assets, including conveyor systems, elevators, container handling equipment (reach stackers and empty handlers), and a fleet of day-cab trucks and trailers. This role ensures safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of equipment critical to terminal and logistics operations while leading maintenance teams, managing vendors, and driving continuous improvement.

Your Work Schedule
 

  • Monday to Friday, with flexibility for additional hours depending on operational needs. Availability for weekends and on-call duties as required.


Key Responsibilities

Equipment & Fleet Maintenance
 

  • Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for:
  • Conveyor systems (belt, roller, automated, and powered systems)
  • Freight and industrial elevators
  • Container reach stackers and empty container handlers
  • Day-cab trucks, terminal tractors, and on-road equipment
  • Trailers, chassis, and related fleet assets
  • Ensure maximum equipment uptime while minimizing unplanned downtime
  • Develop and manage asset maintenance strategies using CMMS/EAM systems
  • Monitor equipment performance, failure trends, and lifecycle costs


Team Leadership & Supervision
 

  • Lead and supervise maintenance supervisors, mechanics, electricians, technicians, and contractors
  • Establish staffing plans, shift coverage, and emergency response on-call rotation
  • Set performance expectations and conduct training and development
  • Promote a strong safety-first and accountability-driven culture


Safety, Compliance & Reliability
 

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory requirements, including:
  • Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and lifting equipment standards
  • Fleet maintenance and inspection requirements
  • Lockout/tagout, confined space, and working-at-height procedures
  • Lead safety inspections, audits, and incident investigations
  • Coordinate certified inspections and regulatory documentation for lifting and mobile equipment


Planning, Budgeting & Vendor Management
 

  • Prepare, manage, and control maintenance operating and capital budgets
  • Forecast spare parts, consumables, tires, and critical components
  • Manage vendors, contractors, and service agreements for equipment and fleet maintenance
  • Evaluate repair vs. replace decisions and capital improvement proposals


Fleet & Transportation Support
 

  • Ensure preventive maintenance and compliance readiness for trucks and trailers
  • Coordinate downtime with operations to support dispatch and yard efficiency
  • Support fleet reliability, fuel efficiency, and asset standardization efforts


Continuous Improvement & Projects
 

  • Lead reliability initiatives, root cause analysis (RCA), and failure reduction programs
  • Support equipment upgrades, new asset commissioning, and yard/terminal expansion projects
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Safety, and IT teams to improve asset performance


Required Qualifications

Education & Experience
 

  • bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • 7-10+ years of maintenance experience in logistics, terminal, port, or heavy industrial operations
  • At least 5 years in a leadership or management role


Technical Knowledge
 

  • Strong understanding of:
  • Diesel engines, hydraulics, and mobile equipment systems
  • Electrical systems, motors, VFDs, and controls
  • Container handling and yard equipment
  • Fleet maintenance best practices
  • Experience with CMMS/EAM systems and maintenance KPI tracking
