The position:
Under the supervision of the branch manager, the incumbent performs mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical maintenance and repair work on mobile equipment at our facilities.
Main responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance on mobile equipment;
- Determine the nature of defects and malfunctions to assess the scope of repairs required (diagnosis);
- Prepare a comprehensive repair report identifying the cause of breakdowns and problems encountered;
- Adjust, repair, and/or replace defective parts;
- Test the repaired equipment to ensure it is functioning properly and that the repairs meet requirements;
- Read plans, diagrams, and schematics to determine the proper course of action;
- Notify the immediate supervisor and/or the customer of all repairs required on the units.
Qualifications:
- Have at least three (3) years of experience in mechanics (essential);
- Have a basic understanding of general mechanics, electricity, and the principles of hydraulics and pneumatics;
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment (an asset);
- Basic computer skills;
- Possession of a class 5 driver’s licence;
- Physical strength, stamina, and energy to lift and carry heavy loads, remain standing for extended periods without sitting, and work in physically demanding conditions.
Working conditions:
- Day or evening shifts Monday to Friday;
- Exposure to noise, dust, dirt, and potentially chemicals;
- Typical garage working conditions.

Training
- Vocational diploma in heavy vehicle mechanics or equivalent experience;
- P.E.P. card (preferred);
- SAAQ Inspector card (preferred).
